How I Stumbled Into Medium and Never Looked Back

I had no idea whatsoever

I remember it vividly, as if it were yesterday. I sat at my desk, staring at my old laptop (I still have it), wondering where to start.

The shocking thing is that writing wasn’t something I thought I’d do, even in my wildest dreams. But it turned out I did, and it was the best decision I ever made (besides that time, I decided to try that new pizza place).

So, I opened this new Google Word document and began to organize my thoughts.

Wait! “What am I writing about in the first place?”

Oh okay. I had a few topics that I had jotted down in my notebook and was ready to work on. At the time in, 2020, I signed up on Medium, delighted to have an article publishing platform.

But before bumping into Medium, here is my story.

In 2018, I ghostwrote articles for one of my Singaporean clients. Although most of the articles could have been more captivating (the topics were boring), I had to do them for the bucks.

Once I was done, I would share the draft copies in a Google Doc. I did the ghosting for one and a half years before it took an unexpected twist. The guy went MIA without notice.
